Subject: Please Do Not Pass HB 131

To Representatives of the Education Committee:
I am writing to Please urge you to NOT pass HB 131 the Public Education Modernization Act! Even if this bill passed the Rules of Legislation, I assume as much as the le.utah.gov page shows that it is now in the House Education Committee, it should NOT be passed into law. * I have read this bill and the language is clear. This bill is meant to continue to hurl Utah's education system down the wrong path of remaining part of the CC standards, using their affiliated tests, databases, etc. The Parents and Teachers of Utah DO NOT WANT the Common Core standards in part or in their entirety for educating OUR children. We are STILL fighting to eliminate the already partially implemented Math and Language Arts standards from our state, and to prevent any further implementation from happening, and we will continue to fight until you, our supposed 'representatives' do what we ask, what is RIGHT, and allow Utahns the opportunity, the RIGHT to create our own education standards. We do not mean to threaten, but like many have said we WILL make our voices heard in the voting booths if they are not heard and heeded now, concerning this issue.
Please do not pass HB 131.
Thank you for your time.
Claire B.
