Subject: Please move Brian Greene's HB 228 out for a VOTE - We need transparent and fair elections
Date: Thu Feb 20 14:46:58 MST 2014
We need transparent and fair state school board elections.
The current and very unfair current process is this: people who want to run for state school board apply and the first step is to take a very pointed questionnaire; so if you aren't already in groupthink mode you are not going to serve on the state school board. You can't even run.
Then a committee weeds out more people, and finally Governor Herbert gets to select two people. He practically appoints them. Voters only get to choose between A or B both of whom are already pre-selected to align with the establishment's groupthink.
Is that the American way? Not at all. Vote for Brian Greene's HB 228.
