Subject: Please do not pass HB 131 out of committee
Date: Thu Feb 20 13:34:27 MST 2014
Body:
Please do not pass HB 131. I have many concerns with this bill. We have tried the iPads at our charter school, and we have not been happy with them. Even my daughter, who was so excited about it at the beginning of the year, has ended up frustrated and not liking it. She is very smart and gets excellent grades, but this year has been quite difficult for her. Not only with the common core implementation (the math is horrible), but also with the iPad "experiment". Not only that, I'm concerned with the cost of this iPad adventure. The cost numbers are staggering. I would rather use what money we can to get better curriculum and get out of Common Core.

Thank you for your time,
Jennifer Stafford
