Missouri Looks to New Telehealth Model

Several Missouri policymakers traveled to New Mexico in December to learn more about Project ECHO, a new model for telemedicine that links primary care providers to specialists. Through consultation and education, the program builds the capacity of primary care providers to offer the latest evidence-based treatments for their patients.

 

 



CSG Seeks State Input for Privatization Study

Privatization has long held a prominent place in state governments as a viable management decision. States have been exploring or implementing new privatization initiatives every year for more than a decade. The Council of State Governments is once again exploring states' use of privatization and its effects, as well as the factors that change them. 

 

  


Top Issues Legislators Face in 2014

State policymakers once again are facing challenges in financing core programs as they deal with federal funding cuts. The most pressing questions facing policymakers this legislative session most likely will center on revenues needed to fund the basic role of government.
