S.R. 92; Improvements

Construction crews have opened the eastbound and westbound commuter lanes to the public with the exception of the first westbound entrance ramp at Highland Boulevard. Construction crews are currently working on final tasks for the project, including some rework at the first westbound entrance ramp. This entrance point is anticipated to be open in early winter. Any work remaining on the commuter lanes will be completed at night with periodic closures only as needed. This project will complete final tasks associated with the S.R. 92 improvements and assure the quality of the road.

I-15; Bridge Rehab; Lehi Main Street to 2100 North

UDOT will resume bridge maintenance work this weekend in Lehi. Southbound I-15 will be reduced to two lanes between 2100 North and Lehi Main Street from Friday, Sept. 27, at 8 p.m. through Monday, Sept. 30, at 6 a.m. This project will provide a smoother ride for drivers and prolong the life of the roadway.

North County Blvd. Bump Repair; State St. in American Fork

This project will create a smooth transition at the intersection where 1100 East meets U.S. 89 (State Street) in Utah County. The section of 1100 East adjacent to U.S. 89 will be resurfaced and curb, gutter and drainage improvements will be included as part of the project where necessary. Lane restrictions will be in place with minor delays. The project will ensure a smooth ride for drivers and prolong the life of the roadway. All work is scheduled to take place during October 2013.


I-15/S.R. 145 Interchange; I-15 NB Off-Ramp to American Fork Main Street Reconfiguration

No work currently scheduled for this project. Crews need to complete the final striping but a date for the work has not been set. The new configuration will help improve off-ramp traffic flow.

U.S. 89/State Street Improvements; Orem to Pleasant Grove

Construction continues on State Street between 100 East in Pleasant Grove and 1860 North in Orem. 600 North in Lindon is now open at the State Street intersection. Road widening on southbound State Street near the intersection at 700 South in Pleasant Grove will start as early as Wednesday, Oct. 2, and the right turn lane will be closed for up to 5 days. Crews are working during nighttime hours to place new asphalt pavement from Pleasant Grove south into Lindon. Earthwork and grading are nearly complete on the east side of State Street and crews are installing new curb and gutter between 60 North and 700 North in Lindon. Crews continue to install storm drains on State Street near 100 East in Pleasant Grove. During overnight hours, drivers can expect lane restrictions as well as intermittent delays at intersections, where traffic will be controlled by UHP officers.

This project will widen and repave State Street (U.S. Highway 89) between Orem and Pleasant Grove, with completion scheduled for this fall. The project will improve traffic flow and provide a smoother ride for drivers.

Orem 800 North Trail; 1000 East to Palisade Drive

Orem City plans to construct a 10-foot-wide trail along to 800 North from 1000 East to the mouth of Provo Canyon. The project is anticipated to begin late summer or fall 2013. Once construction is underway, intermittent lane closures will be in place in the north-westbound lane. This trail will complete the connection between the Murdock Canal Trail and the Provo Canyon Trail.
I-15/U.S. 189 Interchange; I-15 and University Avenue Interchange Ramp Resurfacing

On Thursday, Sept. 26 crews will be placing the final striping on the northbound on-ramp at University Avenue from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. The ramp will remain open while work is being performed. New stripes will help prolong the life of the road.

U.S. 89/State Street Safety Improvements, Phase 2

Project clean up work will be occurring this week. There are no scheduled lane or shoulder closures. Pedestrians should use caution when using the trail through the construction zone. This project will provide a safer pedestrian route and include shoulder widening in some areas, construction of curb and gutter, a 10-foot multi-use trail, decorative lighting and a landscaped park strip.

I-15/S.R. 75 (1400 North) Interchange; Lane Reconfiguration and Resurfacing

On Thursday, Sept. 26 crews will be placing final striping on the roadway and S.R. 75 will be reduced to one lane in each direction in the vicinity of I-15 from 8 p.m. - 6 a.m. daily. Expect delays with on and off ramps, or use alternate routes if possible. New stripes will help prolong the life of the road.

U.S. 89; 700 South Springville to 300 South Provo

Crosswalks and arrows will be added to the new road surface next week between 1400 North and 300 South. This work will be done during the day. Grooved in striping will also be added to the road. Some of this work may be done as night work for one or two nights. Some lane closures will occur during work, but one lane will remain open in each direction. This project will replace the top layer of asphalt to provide a smooth travel surface and increase the life span of the road as well as upgrade ADA ramps, signal lights, and area signage.

On Saturday, Sept. 28 crews will be resurfacing from 8 a.m. - 3 p.m. on westbound lanes only. Traffic will be reduced to one lane westbound. There may be delays and traffic should use S.R. 75 as an alternate. New asphalt pavement will help prolong the life of the road.

I-15; South Payson Interchange to Spanish Fork River

I-15 northbound and southbound will be reduced to one lane each way Saturday and Sunday during the day for bridge work. Both lanes with be opened back up by 7 am Monday morning. Lanes are also currently being reduced to one lane at night (10 p.m. to 6 a.m.) for paving activities. Closures will take place nightly, as needed, until late fall.

Crews continue to work on the bridges at Utah Avenue, 400 North, and Payson Main. One-way lane configuration will remain in place until project completion with temporary traffic lights at each location. All lanes are anticipated to be opened by late fall. Sound wall installation has begun in qualified areas along the eastern side of I-15. Installation is expected to be completed by late fall with minimal, if any, impacts to the public. All work is part of the overall I-15 widening project from the south Payson interchange to Spanish Fork River. The widening will improve traffic flow and help accommodate for future growth throughout region.

Canyon Road opened to regular traffic on Sept. 21. The paving of Seven Peaks Boulevard (from about 450 North to 700 North) is scheduled for Oct. 2 through Oct. 4. This is part of a project dedicated to developing and distributing a portion of Utah's share of Colorado River water for use along the Wasatch Front.

S.R. 32; Resurfacing Near Jordanelle

Resurfacing work is now complete along S.R. 32. Weather permitting, crews are scheduled to return early October to complete the final roadway striping. This project used a pavement rehabilitation process referred to as cold-in-place that recycles the current asphalt pavement on the roadway. The resurfacing project is scheduled to be complete October 2013 and will help prolong the life of the roadway.

Chip Seal: 2 Locations, Midway Center Street and U.S. 40

Chip-seal operations are now complete. Depending on weather and material supply, remaining work on the S.R. 113 bridge structure is anticipated to occur late September or early October. Intermittent one-way flagging operations will be in place and drivers can expect delays once work is underway. The project is scheduled to be complete fall 2013. This project will provide a smoother ride for drivers and prolong the life of the roadway.

Deer Creek Reservoir Walls

Work is now underway on the reservoir walls. Motorists can expect lane shifts with one lane of traffic open in each direction during the day, with intermittent one-way flagging during the night (10 p.m. to 6 a.m.). Traffic lanes have been narrowed and motorists are advised to reduce speeds while traveling through the area. This work will help repair and maintain the outside of the westbound lane shoulder that needs repair due to slope erosion.

U.S. 191; Slide Repair MP 261.4 to 261.8

Work to repair the slide area is complete. Road repair operations began on Aug. 5. During construction, one-way flagging operations will be in place. Work is scheduled to occur during daytime hours. Crews expect work to be completed by the end of September. This project will repair a slide area and the damaged roadway on U.S. 191.

S.R. 35, S.R. 87 Bridge Rehabilitation, Two Locations

Bridge work on S.R. 35 is now complete. UDOT continues to perform maintenance on the S.R. 87 bridge. One-way flagging will occur, and a one-time 36-hour full closure of the S.R. 35 bridge over the Duchesne River is anticipated. Drivers should expect delays. This work will help maintain the bridge structures in the area.

S.R. 87, S.R. 191 : Crews plan to conduct surface maintenance on these roads at the end of September. Traffic will be reduced to one lane, and flaggers will guide traffic through the construction zone. Delays of 10-15 minutes can be expected. This project helps preserve the life of the roads.

U.S. 40; MP 116.2 to MP 118.8, Ballard

Highway 40 from MP 116.2 to MP 118.8 (Ballard) is undergoing a widening project to accommodate a center turn lane and widened shoulders east of Roosevelt. During daytime working hours (6 a.m. to 8 p.m.), travel lanes will be narrowed to 12'. At night (8 p.m. to 6 a.m.), the contractor is allowed alternating one-way traffic with a single 12' lane controlled with flagging operations. Work is anticipated to be complete mid October. This project will increase safety and help prolong the life of the road.

S.R. 88; U.S. 40 to Ouray

UDOT has completed the repaving project on S.R. 88 from U.S. 40 to Ouray. In addition to the new asphalt, construction crews installed new rumble strips, reflector posts, concrete barriers and road signs and made improvements to existing guardrail. This project provides a smoother ride for drivers and will prolong the life of the roadway.

S.R. 44 Maintenance
