S.R. 92; Improvements

Construction crews have opened the eastbound and westbound commuter lanes to the public with the exception of the first westbound entrance ramp at Highland Boulevard. Both commuter lanes will remain open throughout the remainder of the summer. Any work remaining on the commuter lanes will be completed at night with periodic closures only as needed. There will be intermittent shoulder closures both eastbound / westbound on mainline Timpanogos Highway as crews complete the remaining work on Timpanogos Highway mainline. This project will complete final tasks associated with the S.R. 92 improvements and assure the quality of the road.

S.R. 74; S.R. 92 to Alpine Roundabout

Crews are finalizing work on S.R. 74 from Timpanogos Highway to the roundabout in downtown Alpine. Crews will be painting new striping and completing final items of work on Sept. 13. Southbound lanes near the intersection of S.R. 92 may be shifted or temporarily blocked. Pavement replacement and other improvements on this project will preserve the life of the road and provide a smoother drive.

I-15; Bridge Rehab; Lehi Main Street to 2100 North

UDOT will resume bridge maintenance work this weekend in Lehi. Southbound I-15 will be reduced to two lanes between Lehi Main Street and 2100 North from Friday, Sept. 13, at 8 p.m. through Monday, Sept. 16, at 6 a.m. Work will be suspended next weekend to accommodate heavy traffic during the BYU home football game on Saturday, Sept. 21. This project will provide a smoother ride for drivers and prolong the life of the roadway.


I-15/S.R. 145 Interchange; I-15 NB Off-Ramp to American Fork Main Street Reconfiguration

No work is currently scheduled for this project. Crews will need to complete the final striping but a date for the work has not been scheduled. The new configuration will help improve off-ramp traffic flow.

U.S. 89/State Street Improvements; Orem to Pleasant Grove

Construction continues on State Street between 100 East in Pleasant Grove and 1860 North in Orem. 60 North and 600 North in Lindon are scheduled to reopen this weekend. Repaving work on State Street is underway; crews are working during nighttime hours from Pleasant Grove south into Lindon. Earthwork and grading continue on the east side of State Street between 60 North and 700 North in Lindon. During overnight hours, drivers can expect lane restrictions as well as intermittent delays at intersections, where traffic will be controlled by UHP officers. This project will widen and repave State Street (U.S. Highway 89) between Orem and Pleasant Grove, with completion scheduled for this fall. The project will improve traffic flow and provide a smoother ride for drivers.

Orem 800 North Trail; 1000 East to Palisade Drive

Orem City plans to construct a 10-foot-wide trail along to 800 North from 1000 East to the mouth of Provo Canyon. The project is anticipated to begin late summer or fall 2013. Once construction is underway, intermittent lane closures will be in place in the north-westbound lane. This trail will complete the connection between the Murdock Canal Trail and the Provo Canyon Trail.

S.R. 114 (Center Street); 1600 West to I-15 Concrete Replacement

Crews will complete final striping on Sunday, Sept. 16. Intermittent lane closures will be in place on Center Street from I-15 to 1600 West in both directions from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. This project will help provide a smoother driving surface.

U.S. 89/State Street Safety Improvements, Phase 2

Light poles are scheduled to be delivered and installed on the east side this week. There are no scheduled lane or shoulder closures. Pedestrians should use caution when using the trail through the construction zone. This project will provide a safer pedestrian route and include shoulder widening in some areas, construction of curb and gutter, a 10-foot multi-use trail, decorative lighting and a landscaped park strip.

I-15/S.R. 75 (1400 North) Interchange; Lane Reconfiguration and Resurfacing

Crews will resurface the on- and off-ramps this weekend. The following restrictions will be in place: Sept. 13 the southbound off-ramp will be closed. Sept. 14 the northbound and southbound on-ramps will be closed. Sept. 15 the northbound on-ramp and off-ramp will be closed. All closures are scheduled from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Traffic will run on milled surface on the northbound on-ramp from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday. Drivers should reduce speed and watch for loose gravel. This project will improve traffic flow and provide a smoother driving surface.

Grinding and striping continue this week between 300 South and 1200 South State Street. Some lane closures will occur during work, but one lane will remain open in each direction. This project will replace the top layer of asphalt to provide a smooth travel surface and increase the life span of the road as well as upgrade ADA ramps, signal lights, and area signage

I-15/S.R. 77 (400 South) Interchange in Springville; Lane Reconfiguration

UDOT construction crews are reconfiguring the I-15 and S.R. 77 Interchange. This work will include reconfiguration of the northbound on-ramp, re-stripe existing lanes on S.R. 77 (reduce eastbound S.R. 77 to northbound I-15 to one lane and increase westbound S.R. 77 to northbound I-15 to two lanes), and reconfiguration of the raised median on S.R. 77. Once complete the new configuration will improve traffic flow. One lane closures will be in place daily from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. from through mid-September.

U.S. 6 Improvements in Spanish Fork; Chappel Drive to Expressway Lane

UDOT construction crews are scheduled to begin constructing improvements on U.S. 6 on Tuesday, Sept. 3. This work will include re-striping U.S. 6 to increase capacity to three lanes, the addition of a right-turn pocket from westbound U.S. 6 to northbound Expressway Lane, landscaping work and the relocation of a signal pole at Chappel Drive. U.S. 6, between Chappel Drive and Expressway, Lane will be reduced to one lane in each direction from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. from Sept. 3 through the end of September. This project will improve traffic flow in the area.

I-15; South Payson Interchange to Spanish Fork River

During the week of September 10, crews will shift traffic between the Payson Main and Benjamin exits. Watch for changing lane configurations.

Crews continue to work on the bridges at Utah Avenue, 400 North, and Payson Main through August. One-way lane configuration will remain in place until project completion with temporary traffic lights at each location. All lanes are anticipated to be opened by late fall.

Sound wall installation has begun in qualified areas along the eastern side of I-15. Installation is expected to be completed by late fall with minimal, if any impacts to the public.

I-15 northbound and southbound are currently being reduced to one lane at night (10 p.m. to 6 a.m.) for paving activities. Closures will take place nightly on an as-needed basis until late fall. All work is part of the overall I-15 widening project from the south Payson interchange to Spanish Fork River. The widening will improve traffic flow and help accommodate for future growth throughout the region.

2230 North is currently closed from Canyon Road to 2320 North, with local access only. 2200 North is closed between 2320 North and 400 East, with local access only. Canyon Road is closed to northbound traffic from 2230 North to about 2350 North. Please use University Avenue as an alternate route.

 

This is part of a project dedicated to developing and distributing a portion of Utah's share of Colorado River water for use along the Wasatch Front.

I-15; Maintenance at the Point of the Mountain

UDOT will be coring on I-15 between the I-15 CORE project and 12300 South Sept. 15 through Sept. 18 beginning at 9 pm. On the Sept. 15 the southbound outside lane and the northbound inside lane will be closed. On the Sept. 16 crews will close the southbound inside lane and the northbound outside lane. Sept. 17, the northbound inside lane and the southbound outside lane will be closed. On Sept. 18, crews will close the northbound outside lane and the southbound inside lane.

U.S. 40 (Main Street) and 600 South, Heber City

UDOT crews have begun construction on the intersection at U.S. 40 (Main Street) and 600 South in Heber City. The work consists of removing and replacing an irrigation pipe culvert crossing U.S. 40 on the south side of the 600 South intersection. Crews are conducting work at night, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., with one lane open in each direction during that time. They anticipate the work taking several weeks. This project will improve pedestrian access and irrigation flow in the area.

S.R. 32; Resurfacing Near Jordanelle

Resurfacing work is now complete along S.R. 32. Weather permitting, crews will apply striping throughout the coming weeks and are scheduled to return early October to complete the roadway striping. Lane shifting may be in place in order to allow crews room to work. Motorists and bicyclists should plan for extra time while traveling through the area. This project used a pavement rehabilitation process referred to as cold-in-place that recycles the current asphalt pavement on the roadway. The resurfacing project is scheduled to be complete October 2013 and will help prolong the life of the roadway.

Chip Seal: 2 Locations, Midway Center Street and U.S. 40

Chip-seal operations are now complete. Last week, crews tested materials for the bridge structure over the Provo River. Depending on weather and material supply, remaining work on the S.R. 113 bridge structure is anticipated to occur late September. Intermittent one-way flagging operations will be in place and drivers can expect delays once work is underway. The project is scheduled to be complete fall 2013. This project will provide a smoother ride for drivers and prolong the life of the roadway.

Deer Creek Reservoir Walls

Work is now underway on the reservoir walls. Motoirists can expect lane shifts with one lane of traffic open in each direction during the day, with intermittent one-way flagging during the night (10 p.m. to 6 a.m.). Traffic lanes have been narrowed and motorists are advised to reduce speeds while traveling through the area. This work will help repair and maintain the outside of the westbound lane shoulder that needs repair due to slope erosion.

Work to repair the slide area is complete. Road repair operations began on Aug. 5. During construction, one-way flagging operations will be in place. Work is scheduled to occur during daytime hours. Crews expect work to be completed by the end of September. This project will repair a slide area and the damaged roadway on U.S. 191.

UDOT is performing pavement markings on U.S. 191 from milepost 363 to 404, north of Vernal. Work is scheduled to take place during the day, between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. This is a moving operation, and drivers may be briefly delayed behind the paint crew as they stripe the road.The project is expected to continue next week, weather permitting, and is anticipated to be complete by mid-September. This work will improve safety for drivers on the road.

S.R. 35, S.R. 87 Bridge Rehabilitation, Two Locations

UDOT is performing maintenance on bridges on S.R. 35 and S.R. 87. One-way flagging will occur in both locations, and a one-time 36-hour full closure of the S.R. 35 bridge over the Duchesne River is anticipated. Drivers should expect delays. S.R. 87, S.R. 191 : Crews plan to conduct surface maintenance on these roads at the end of September. Traffic will be reduced to one lane, and flaggers will guide traffic through the construction zone. Delays of 10-15 minutes can be expected. This project helps preserve the life of the roads.

U.S. 40; MP 116.2 to MP 118.8, Ballard

Highway 40 from MP 116.2 to MP 118.8 (Ballard) is undergoing a widening project to accommodate a center turn lane and widened shoulders east of Roosevelt. During daytime working hours (6 a.m. to 8 p.m.), travel lanes will be narrowed to 12'. At night (8 p.m. to 6 a.m.), the contractor is allowed alternating one-way traffic with a single 12' lane controlled with flagging operations. Work is anticipated to be complete this fall. This project will increase safety and help prolong the life of the road.

S.R. 88; U.S. 40 to Ouray

UDOT is repaving a 17-mile stretch of S.R. 88 from U.S. 40 to Ouray during daylight hours (sunrise to sunset). Next week, crews are scheduled complete the chip seal and permanent lane markings. Drivers should anticipate delays of up to 15 minutes to accommodate one-way flagging operations. This project will provide a smoother ride for drivers and prolong the life of the roadway.
