My involvement with the American Cancer Society and their work on creating a Hope Lodge for Utah is what this correspondence is about. The Social Services Appropriations Committee will receive a presentation on February 7th asking for your support for a one time $2 Million appropriation for the Hope Lodge to be built in Salt Lake City. The Hope Lodge a home away from home for cancer patients and their caregivers as the patient receives cancer treatment. There are numerous Hope Lodges across the nation but none in our region. Our local branch of the American Cancer Society has raised $15 Million of an $18 Million requirement for this much needed project. With your support we will be able to break ground this spring and bring this incredible facility to fruition for those suffering with cancer and those supporting them. For your edification about this facility I have attached information about the Hope Lodge. I thank you for your service, your foresight and your support of this sorely needed project. Respectfully, Steve Bogden Director Strategic Planning Coldwell Banker Commercial Intermountain. American Cancer Society Board
