Trib Talk Live:

The Handbook: LDS Perspectives on Gay Policies

SALT LAKE CITY — The LDS Church recently amended its policies, labeling same-sex couples as apostates and prohibiting children of same-sex couples from being baptized and obtaining other religious rites until age 18. So how are the new LDS policies about gay couples and their children playing in the pews?

Trib Talk Live host Jennifer Napier-Pearce discusses the implications the policies have for members, their families and the future of the Mormon church at a public forum, The Handbook: LDS Perspectives on Gay Policies, tomorrow at 7 p.m., The Leonardo, 209 E. 500 South, Salt Lake City

"The policy changes have been condemned by many non-Mormons, but even some of the most faithful Latter-day Saints have responded with confusion and criticism," said Dave Noyce, Tribune managing editor. "We hope this forum will illuminate how some church members are responding and what the policies mean for the institution's future."

The forum will be broadcast live on KCPW 88.3/105.5 FM and live-streaming and recorded video will be available at sltrib.com. This is a free, public event, but seating is limited.
