10    This act enacts uncodified material.
11    Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
12         S [ Section 1. Appropriation.
13        (1) There is appropriated for fiscal year 1998-99 from the General Fund to the Utah
14    Highway Patrol Division of the Department of Public Safety $300,000 to provide computer
15    equipment, training, and the hardware and software, including servers, scanners, and all other
16    related equipment.
17        (2) It is the intent of the Legislature that this appropriation, as part of ongoing upgrade of
18    troopers' computer access, shall be applied to the highway patrol field troopers serving in Utah and
19    Juab counties, due to the populations in need of increased service in these counties.

19e         (1) ONE PROGRAM DIRECTOR;
19f         (2) ONE PROGRAMMER/ANALYST III; AND
19g         (3) ONE TECHNICAL SUPPORT SPECIALIST II. h
