COMPUTERS FOR HIGHWAY PATROL

5 AN ACT RELATING TO PUBLIC SAFETY AND APPROPRIATIONS; APPROPRIATING
6 $508,935 FOR FISCAL YEAR 1999-2000 FOR COMPUTERS FOR UTAH HIGHWAY
7 PATROL TROOPERS; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
8 This act enacts uncodified material.
9 Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
10 Section 1. Appropriation.
11 (1) Except as provided in H.B. 4, Appropriations Coordination Act, there is appropriated
12 for fiscal year 1999-2000, $508,935 from the General Fund to the Utah Highway Patrol Division
13 of the state Department of Public Safety to fund the purchase of computers for Highway Patrol
14 field troopers.
15 (2) It is the intent of the Legislature that this appropriation, as part of an ongoing upgrade
16 of troopers' computer access, be applied to the computer needs of Highway Patrol field troopers
17 serving in h DAVIS, h Utah h , h and Juab counties, due to the populations in these counties in
17a need of increased
18 service.
19 Section 2. Effective date.
20 This act takes effect on July 1, 1999.
