DESIGNATION OF FREQUENT CRASH

6 AN ACT RELATING TO TRANSPORTATION; PROVIDING FOR THE DESIGNATION OF
7 FREQUENT CRASH HIGHWAYS.
8 This act affects sections of Utah Code Annotated 1953 as follows:
9 ENACTS:
10 72-4-205, Utah Code Annotated 1953
11 Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
12 Section 1. Section 72-4-205 is enacted to read:
13 72-4-205. Frequent crash highway designation.
14 (1) A highway authority may designate a highway or portion of a highway as a frequent
15 crash highway for the purpose of:
16 (a) informing motorists that crashes have occurred with above average frequency or
17 severity on the designated highway or portion of the highway; and
18 (b) urging users to exercise caution while traveling on the designated highway or portion
19 of the highway.
20 (2) A highway authority shall be designated a frequent crash highway by erecting signs on
21 the highway or portion of the highway. The signs shall comply with the purposes under Subsection
22 (1).
