Mr. President and Mr. Speaker:
Your Conference Committee consisting of Senators Steele, Waddoups, and Hull, and Representatives Alexander, Chard, and Gary Cox to which was referred H.B. 1, Annual Appropriations Act by Representative J. Alexander, proposes the following amendments:
1. Delete the lilac House transmittal letter dated March 1, 1999 (7:34PM)
2. Delete the goldenrod Senate transmittal letter dated March 2, 1999
3. Page 35, Line 1156: After "UTAX" delete ", and that" and insert "." and after "2000" insert "UTAX"
4. Page 37, Lines 1211-1228: Delete all of lines 1211 through 1228
5. Page 39, Line 1283: After "conditions attached:" insert "state monies are only available on a one to one match;"
6. Page 39, Line 1286: After "government entity" insert "; and, in addition to receiving the approval of the Board of Business and Economic Development required by statute, the contract may not be entered into until at least three of the boards of directors of the following entities approve the contract by a majority vote: Utah Small Cities, Inc., Utah Alliance for Economic Development; Utah League of Cities and Towns, Utah Association of Counties, Utah Center for Rural Life."
7. Page 46, Line 1512: After "transfers" delete "up"
8. Page 46, Line 1513: At the beginning of the line delete "to"
9. Page 46, Line 1514: After "benefits" insert "in the Department of Corrections or Department of Public Safety"
