Mr. Speaker:

    The Political Subdivisions Committee reports a favorable recommendation on H.B. 112, APPOINTMENT OF LEGAL COUNSEL IN COUNTIES, by Representative J. Swallow, with the following amendments:
1.    Page 1, Line 16:    After "(1) (a)" delete "A" and insert "An elected"

2.    Page 1, Line 21:    After "attorney or" delete "prosecuting" and insert "district"

3.    Page 1, Line 23:    After "(c)" delete "As directed by the county executive, an" and insert "An"

4.    Page 1, Line 25:    After "tribunals" insert "when a conflict exists that precludes the county or district attorney from representing the county executive"

5.    Page 1, Lines 26-27:    Delete lines 26 and 27

6.    Page 2, Lines 28-34:    Delete lines 28 through 34

7.    Page 2, Line 34:    After line 34 insert:
        "(2) A county legislative body may appoint an attorney to represent the county legislative body when a conflict exists that precludes the county or district attorney from representing the county legislative body."
