2 OFFENDERS - EXTENSION

6 AN ACT RELATING TO CRIMINAL JUSTICE; AMENDING THE COUNCIL ON SEXUAL
7 VICTIMS AND OFFENDERS TO MOVE THE REPORTING DATE.
8 This act affects uncodified material as follows:
9 AMENDS:
10 Uncodified Section 2, Chapter 343, Laws of Utah 1999
11 Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
12 Section 1. Uncodified Section 2, Chapter 343, Laws of Utah 1999 is amended to read:
13 Section 2. Duties -- Interim report.
14 (1) The council shall review and make recommendations on the following sexual offender
15 and victim treatment issues:
16 (a) early intervention and care for both victims and offenders;
17 (b) postincarceration or treatment care;
18 (c) civil commitment for sexual offenders;
19 (d) defining sexual predators; and
20 (e) other related issues as determined by the council.
21 (2) A final report, including any proposed legislation, shall be presented to the Law
22 Enforcement and Criminal Justice Interim Committee and to the Judiciary Interim Committee [by]
23 on or before the October [1999 meeting] 2000 meetings.
