Mr. Speaker:

    The Business, Labor, and Economic Development Committee recommends H.B. 185, HEALTH INSURERS - COVERAGE OF EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES, by Representative M. Carlson, be replaced and reports a favorable recommendation on 1st Sub. H.B. 185, HEALTH INSURERS - COVERAGE OF EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES with the following amendments:

1.    Page 2, Line 26:        After "section" insert ": (a)"

             Renumber remaining subsections accordingly.

2.    Page 2, Line 29:        Delete "an" and insert "a hospital" and delete "treatment facility, as defined" and insert "department"

3.     Page 2, Line 30:        Delete "in rule,"

4.    Page 2, Line 34:        After "part" insert:
            "; and
            (b) "hospital emergency department" means that area of a hospital in which emergency services are provided on a 24-hour-a-day basis"
