First Substitute H.B. 53

Representative DeMar Bud Bowman proposes to substitute the following bill:

OLD IRON TOWN STATE PARK

             5      This act modifies provisions related to Parks and Recreation to incorporate Old Iron Town
             6      into the state park system. This act appropriates S [ $90,000 ] $10,000 s from the General
             6a      Fund, for fiscal
             7      year 2001-02 only, to the Division of Parks and Recreation for the development of Old Iron
             8      Town and appropriates $10,000 from the General Fund for fiscal year 2001-02 to the
             9      Division of Parks and Recreation for the operation of Old Iron Town. This act takes effect
             10      on July 1, 2001.
             11      This act affects sections of Utah Code Annotated 1953 as follows:
             12      ENACTS:
             13          63-11-66, Utah Code Annotated 1953
             14      This act enacts uncodified material.
             15      Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
             16          Section 1. Section 63-11-66 is enacted to read:
             17          63-11-66. Old Iron Town incorporated into state park system.
             18          The Division of Parks and Recreation shall accept the donation of Old Iron Town from the
             19      Sons of Utah Pioneers and incorporate the site into the state park system.
             20          Section 2. Appropriation.
             21          (1) For fiscal year 2001-02 only, there is appropriated S [ $90,000 ] $10,000 s from the
             21a      General Fund to
             22      the Division of Parks and Recreation for the development of Old Iron Town.
             23          (2) The money appropriated in Subsection (1):
             24          (a) may be used to:
             25          (i) acquire property necessary to provide access to or parking at the site;


             26          (ii) acquire water rights;
             27          (iii) construct restrooms or other facilities; or
             28          (iv) preserve existing historic structures; and
             29          (b) is nonlapsing.
             30          (3) There is appropriated $10,000 for fiscal year 2001-02 from the General Fund to the
             31      Division of Parks and Recreation for the operation of Old Iron Town.
             32          Section 3. Effective date.
             33          This act takes effect on July 1, 2001.
