             5      This act modifies sections relating to state symbols by recodifying state symbols into one
             6      section and making technical corrections.
             7      This act affects sections of Utah Code Annotated 1953 as follows:

             31      Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
             32          Section 1. Section 63-13-5.5 is enacted to read:
             33          63-13-5.5. State symbols.
             34          (1) Utah's state animal is the elk.
             35          (2) Utah's state bird is the sea gull.
             36          (3) Utah's state centennial astronomical symbol is the Beehive Cluster located in the
             37      constellation of Cancer the Crab.
             38          (4) Utah's state centennial star is Dubhe, one of the seven bright stars composing the Big
             39      Dipper in the constellation Ursa Major.
             40          (5) Utah's state centennial tartan, which honors the first Scots known to have been in Utah
             41      and those Utahns of Scottish heritage, shall have a pattern or repeating-half-sett of white-2, blue-6,
             42      red-6, blue-4, red-6, green-18, red-6, and white-4 to represent the tartan worn anciently by the
             43      Logan and Skene clans, with the addition of a white stripe.
             44          (6) Utah's state cooking pot is the dutch oven.
             45          (7) Utah's state emblem is the beehive.
             46          (8) Utah's state fish is the Bonneville cutthroat trout.
             47          (9) Utah's state flower is the sego lily.
             48          (10) Utah's state folk dance is the square dance, the folk dance that is called, cued, or
             49      prompted to the dancers and includes squares, rounds, clogging, contra, line, and heritage dances.
             50          (11) Utah's state fossil is the Allosaurus.
             51          (12) Utah's state fruit is the cherry.
             52          (13) Utah's state gem is topaz, as is prominently found in the Thomas Mountain Range in
             53      Juab County, Utah.
             54          (14) Utah's state grass is Indian rice grass.
             55          (15) Utah's state insect is the honeybee.
             56          (16) Utah's state mineral is copper.
             57          (17) Utah's state motto is "Industry."
             58          (18) Utah's state railroad museum is Ogden Union Station.


             59          (19) Utah's state rock is coal.
             60          (20) Utah's state song is "Utah We Love Thee" by Evan Stephens.
             61          (21) Utah's state tree is the blue spruce.
             62          Section 2. Repealer.
             63          This act repeals:
             64          Section 63-13-6, State flower.
             65          Section 63-13-7, State tree.
             66          Section 63-13-7.1, State gem.
             67          Section 63-13-7.2, State animal.
             68          Section 63-13-7.3, State fish.
             69          Section 63-13-7.4, State rock.
             70          Section 63-13-7.5, State fruit.
             71          Section 63-13-7.6, State cooking pot.
             72          Section 63-13-8, State song.
             73          Section 63-13-8.1, State folk dance.
             74          Section 63-13-8.2, State Centennial tartan.
             75          Section 63-13-9, Sea gull.
             76          Section 63-13-10, State emblem.
             77          Section 63-13-11, State motto.
             78          Section 63-13-11.4, State mineral.
             79          Section 63-13-11.5, State insect.
             80          Section 63-13-11.7, State fossil.
             81          Section 63-13-11.8, State grass.
             82          Section 63-13-11.9, Designation of railroad museum.
