Mr. Speaker:

    The Political Subdivisions Committee recommends H.B. 324, PROTECTION OF UNINCORPORATED AREAS IN COUNTIES OF THE FIRST CLASS, by Representative A. L. Tyler, be replaced and reports a favorable recommendation on 2nd Sub. H.B. 324, PROTECTION OF UNINCORPORATED AREAS IN COUNTIES OF THE FIRST CLASS with the following amendments:

1.    Page 4, Line 114:    After "(v)" insert "for petitions filed on or after May 6, 2002,"

2.    Page 6, Line 165:    After line 165 insert:
        "(c) Notwithstanding the provisions of Subsection (1)(a), a protest to a petition for annexation may not be filed under this section if the petition for annexation meets the requirements of Subsection 10-2-405(1)(b)."
