LONG TITLE

General Description:

This bill requires the attorney general to maintain an Internet website to assist victims

of identity-related crimes.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:

Section 1.
Section
67-5-22
is enacted to read:

67-5-22. Identity theft reporting information system.

(1) The attorney general shall maintain an Internet website available to victims of
35
identity-related crimes.

(2) The Internet website created under Subsection (1) shall allow a victim of an
37
identity-related crime to H. [

] .H report the crime on the website and have the victim's report routed to the

appropriate law enforcement agency for the jurisdiction in which the crime occurred H. [

Section 2. Appropriation.

There is appropriated $400,000 from the General Fund for fiscal year 2007-08 only, to
