LONG TITLE

General Description:

This bill requires an architect to complete a course of qualified continuing professional
11
education during a licensing cycle in order to renew the license.

Highlighted Provisions:

This bill:

. provides that as a condition for renewal of an architect's license, the licensee shall,
15
during the license cycle, complete 16 hours of qualified continuing professional
16
education; and
17
. provides that the required hours of continuing education may be proportionately
18
increased or decreased if a renewal period is extended or shortened by the Division
19
of Occupational and Professional Licensing.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:

Section 1.
Section
58-3a-303.5
is enacted to read:

58-3a-303.5. Continuing education.

(1) As a condition for renewal of a license under this chapter, each licensee shall,
32
during each two-year licensure cycle or other cycle defined by rule, complete 16 hours of
33
qualified continuing professional education in accordance with standards defined by rule.

(2) If a renewal period is extended or shortened under Section
58-3a-303
, the division
35
shall proportionately increase or decrease the continuing education hours required for licensure
36
renewal under this section.
