9 General Description:
10 This bill enacts provisions relating to county and municipal land use and development
11 authority.
12 Highlighted Provisions:
13 This bill:
14 . prohibits counties and municipalities from designating or treating land as wetlands
15 unless the land has been designated as wetlands by an agency of the federal
16 government.

26 Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
27 Section 1. Section 10-9a-521 is enacted to read:

28 10-9a-521. Wetlands.
29 A municipality may not designate or treat any land as wetlands unless the United States
30 Army Corps of Engineers or other agency of the federal government has designated the land as
31 wetlands.
32 Section 2. Section 17-27a-520 is enacted to read:
33 17-27a-520. Wetlands.
34 A county may not designate or treat any land as wetlands unless the United States Army
35 Corps of Engineers or other agency of the federal government has designated the land as
36 wetlands.
