Mr. President:

    The Judiciary, Law Enforcement, and Criminal Justice Committee reports a favorable recommendation on S.B. 224, JUDICIARY AMENDMENTS, by Senator L. Hillyard, with the following amendments and recommends it be considered read for the second time and placed on the Consent Calendar.

1.    Page 2, Lines 30 through 31 :    

             30      Other Special Clauses:
             31          

{   None   }        This bill has a Coordination Clause.      


2.    Page 9, Line 258 :     After: Subsections (5) and (6) insert "unless the judge orders otherwise,"
    
3.    Page 16, Line 466 :    

             466      enter judgment on the merits.
    
  Section 7. Coordinating S.B. 224 with S.B. 136.

    If this bill, S.B. 224, Judiciary Amendments, and S.B. 136, Unlawful Detainer Amendments, both pass, it is the intent of the Legislature that the amendments in Subsection 78-36-8.5(2)(c) in this bill shall supercede the amendments to the same subsection in S.B. 136, Unlawful Detainer Amendments.
