Committee Chair Peterson called the meeting to order at 2:18 p.m.

1. S.B. 48 Amendments to Coal Mining and Reclamation (Sen. M. Dmitrich)

    Sen. Mike Dmitrich introduced the bill.

    David Litvin, President, Utah Mining Association spoke in support of the bill.

    MOTION: Sen. Stowell moved to pass S.B. 48, Amendments to Coal Mining and Reclamation, out favorably.

    The motion passed unanimously.

2. S.B. 9 Nonprofit Corporation Amendments (Sen. L. Hillyard)

    Sen. Lyle Hillyard introduced the bill.

     MOTION: Sen. Christensen moved to adopt the following amendment:

    1. Page 5, Lines 126 through 127

        126    (5) A nonprofit corporation as defined in Section 16-6a-102 is not considered to be                         


                
[[   a   ]]        an issuing      

                         127      public corporation for purposes of this chapter.

    The motion passed unanimously.

    Fred Finlinson, Central Iron County Water Conservancy District, spoke in support of the bill.

     MOTION: Sen. Dayton moved to pass S.B. 9, Nonprofit Corporation Amendments, out favorably as amended.         

    The motion passed unanimously.

3. S.B. 47 Department of Agriculture Amendments (Sen. M. Dayton)
    
    Sen. Dayton introduced the bill. Leonard Blackham, Commissioner, Utah Department of Agriculture and Food, and Kyle Stephens, Deputy Commissioner, Utah Department of Agriculture and Food, assisted in the presentation and distributed a handout.

    Bill Rigby, Davis Soil Conservation District, spoke in support of the bill.

     MOTION: Sen. Dayton moved to pass S.B. 47, Department of Agriculture Amendments, out favorably.

    The motion passed unanimously.

     MOTION: Sen. Waddoups moved to adjourn.

    The motion passed unanimously.

    Chair Peterson adjourned the meeting at 2:40 p.m.
