This bill modifies the State Officers and Employees title by amending powers of the

lieutenant governor.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:

Section 1.
Section
67-1a-12
is enacted to read:

67-1a-12. Authority to administer oaths.

The lieutenant governor and personnel employed under Section
67-1a-3
, who are
29
designated by the lieutenant governor, may administer oaths when necessary in the
30
performance of official duties.

Section 2. Effective date.
32
If approved by two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, this bill takes effect
33
upon approval by the governor, or the day following the constitutional time limit of Utah
34
Constitution Article VII, Section 8, without the governor's signature, or in the case of a veto,
35
the date of veto override.
