9 General Description:
10 This bill establishes an appropriation to the Department of Transportation.
11 Highlighted Provisions:
12 This bill:
13 . establishes an appropriation of $3,000,000 to the Department of Transportation to
14 study a raised highway that traverses Utah Lake.
15 Monies Appropriated in this Bill:
16 This bill appropriates:
17 . for fiscal year 2008-09 only, $3,000,000 to the Department of Transportation.

23 Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
24 Section 1. Appropriation to the Department of Transportation to study Utah
25 Lake.
26 (1) There is appropriated for fiscal year 2008-09 only, $3,000,000 from the General
27 Fund to the Department of Transportation.

28 (2) It is the intent of the Legislature that the Department of Transportation use the
29 monies appropriated by Subsection (1) to study the construction of a raised highway traversing
30 Utah Lake, including evaluating:
31 (a) transportation alternatives;
32 (b) potential environmental impacts;
33 (c) preliminary structure design options; and
34 (d) alignment and location options.
