             8      LONG TITLE
             9      General Description:
             10          This bill provides an ongoing appropriation to the State Board of Regents to update
             11      computer infrastructure.
             12      Highlighted Provisions:
             13          This bill:
             14          .    provides an ongoing appropriation to the State Board of Regents to fund the
             15      maintenance and upgrade of computer infrastructure.
             16      Monies Appropriated in this Bill:
             17          This bill appropriates:
             18          .    as an ongoing appropriation, subject to future budget constraints, $8,000,000 to the
             19      State Board of Regents.
             20      Other Special Clauses:
             21          None
             22      Uncodified Material Affected:
             23      ENACTS UNCODIFIED MATERIAL

             25      Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
             26          Section 1. Appropriation to the Utah State Board of Regents.
             27          (1) As an ongoing appropriation subject to future budget constraints, there is


             28      appropriated from the Education Fund for fiscal year 2008-09, $8,000,000 to the State Board of
             29      Regents.
             30          (2) It is the intent of the Legislature that the State Board of Regents:
             31          (a) allocate monies appropriated in Subsection (1) to the office of the commissioner of
             32      Higher Education and institutions of higher education, as defined in Section 53B-3-102 , based
             33      on the office's and the institution's percentage of the total system of higher education
             34      networking inventory; and
             35          (b) ensure that the monies appropriated in Subsection (1) are used to fund maintenance
             36      and upgrade of a central:
             37          (i) router;
             38          (ii) server; or
             39          (iii) switch.
