8 LONG TITLE
9 General Description:
10 This bill modifies the Criminal Code regarding the time limitation on prosecution of
11 environmental crimes.
12 Highlighted Provisions:
13 This bill:
14 . requires that a prosecution for a violation of Title 19, Environmental Quality Code,
15 shall be commenced within four years after facts constituting the violation have
16 been reported in writing to a prosecutor having responsibility and jurisdiction to
17 prosecute the offense.

26 Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
27 Section 1. Section 76-1-303.7 is enacted to read:

28 76-1-303.7. Time limitation for prosecution of environmental crimes.
29 A prosecution for a violation of Title 19, Environmental Quality Code, shall be
30 commenced within four years after facts constituting the violation have been reported in
31 writing to a prosecutor having responsibility and jurisdiction to prosecute the offense.
