7 LONG TITLE
8 General Description:
9 This bill appropriates certain ongoing General Fund monies to the Department of
10 Veterans' Affairs to fund certain outreach programs to veterans and their families.
11 Highlighted Provisions:
12 This bill:
13 . appropriates H. [ $50,000 ] $30,000 .H to the Department of Veterans' Affairs to
13a fund increased
14 efforts to provide information and assist veterans and their families to get the
15 benefits and services currently available to them.
16 Monies Appropriated in this Bill:
17 This bill appropriates:
18 . H. [ $50,000 ] $30,000 .H from the General Fund for fiscal year 2008-09 only, to

25 Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
26 Section 1. Appropriation.
27 (1) There is appropriated from the General Fund for fiscal year 2008-09 only,
27a H. [ $50,000 ] $30,000.H

- 2 - 28 to the Department of Veterans' Affairs within the Utah National Guard.
29 (2) It is the intent of the Legislature that the monies appropriated under Subsection (1)
30 be used to increase efforts to implement the provisions of Subsections 71-8-3 (3) and (4)
31 regarding:
32 (a) providing current information to veterans and their surviving spouses and family
33 members to be aware of benefits to which they are entitled; and
34 (b) reaching out and assisting veterans and their families in applying for benefits and
35 services.
