This joint resolution of the Legislature fixes the compensation for legislative in-session

employees for 2008.

Be it resolved by the Legislature of the state of Utah:

WHEREAS, the Legislature acting under the authority of Section 36-2-2, Utah Code
20
Annotated 1953, is required to fix the compensation of its in-session employees by joint
21
resolution:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Legislature of the state of Utah that
23
the compensation of legislative in-session employees for actual hours worked be fixed as
24
follows:

Employees shall be paid the hourly rate as specified on the current Department of
26
Human Resource Management General Pay Plan at the step indicated below.

Employees working for the Legislature for the first time shall be paid under the "Level
28
1" scale. Employees working two or more sessions for the Legislature shall be paid under the
29
"Level 2" scale. Employees working three or more sessions for the Legislature shall be paid
30
under the "Level 3" scale. Employees working four or more sessions for the Legislature shall
31
be paid under the "Level 4" scale. Employees working five or more sessions for the Legislature
32
shall be paid under the "Level 5" scale.

Employees working ten or more sessions for the Legislature shall be paid under the
34
"Level 6" scale. Employees working 15 or more sessions for the Legislature shall be paid
35
under the "Level 7" scale. Employees working 20 or more sessions for the Legislature shall be
36
paid under the "Level 8" scale.

Senate employees are designated with an "S." House of Representative employees are
38
designated with an "H."
