Rep. Donnelson called the meeting to order at 8:33 a.m.

MOTION:    Rep. Fowlke moved to approve the minutes of the February 14, 2008 meeting.
        The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Grover, Rep. Hendrickson, Rep. Hutchings, and Rep. Wiley absent for the vote.

S.B. 126    Filing Fee for Write-in Candidates (Sen. P. Knudson) (Rep. G. Donnelson)

Sen. Knudson explained the bill to the committee.

MOTION:    Rep. Aagard moved to pass the bill out favorably. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Grover, Rep. Hutchings, and Rep. Wiley absent for the vote.

MOTION:    Rep. Oda moved to place the bill on the consent calendar. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Grover, Rep. Hutchings, and Rep. Wiley absent for the vote.

S.J.R. 5    Joint Resolution Amending Legislative Apportionment (Sen. C. Bramble) (Rep. D. Clark)

H.B. 449    Implementation of Federal Real Id Act (Rep. G. Donnelson)

Rep. Donnelson explained the bill to the committee.





MOTION:    Rep. Hutchings moved to amend the bill as follows:


1.    Page 1, Lines 19 through 20 :    

             19          .    requires the Driver License Division to report any attempts to implement the
             20      provisions of the REAL ID Act of 2005 to the governor
  and the Legislature's Government Operations Interim Committee       .


2.    Page 2, Lines 44 through 46 :    

             44          (ii) shall report to the governor
  and the Legislature's Government Operations Interim Committee,       any attempt by an agency or an agent of the United

             45      States Department of Homeland Security to secure the implementation of the REAL ID Act
             46      through the operations of the division.

The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Aagard absent for the vote.
