Rep. Bowman called the meeting to order at 8:20 a.m.

MOTION:    Rep. Wiley moved to approve the minutes of February 22, 2008. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Sumsion absent for the vote.

H.B. 195    Concealed Firearm Permit Amendments (Rep. M. Newbold)

Rep. Newbold presented the bill.

MOTION:    Rep. Oda moved to amend the bill as follows:


1.    Page 2, Line 55 :    

             55          (viii) is qualified to
{   [   } purchase and        /or            {   ]   } possess a firearm pursuant to Section 76-10-503


The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Sumsion absent for the vote.

favor of the bill:    Mr. Scott Duncan, Commissioner, Utah Department of Public Safety



MOTION:    Rep. Wiley moved to pass the bill out favorably. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Sumsion absent for the vote.

Rep. Oda noted Rep. Bowman's upcoming surgery and expressed best wishes from the committee.

MOTION:    Rep. Morley moved to adjourn. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Sumsion absent for the vote. Rep. Bowman adjourned the meeting at 8:55 a.m.
