Representative Carl Wimmer proposes the following amendments:

             161      eligible to try out for and participate in the activity as provided in this Subsection (7).
 

    (j)(i) For the purpose of assessing whether students enrolled in public schools and participating in extracurricular activities are transferring to home schools under circumstances that would suggest that the student would have become academically ineligible to participate in extracurricular activities had the student remained in public school, the State Board of Education shall:
    (A) collect data on the public school academic performance of students who participate in extracurricular activities, transfer to a home school, and subsequently participate in extracurricular activities in public schools as provided in this section; and
    (B) submit the data to the Education Interim Committee by October 31, 2011.
    (ii) The data collected under Subsection (7)(j)(i):
    (A) shall include:
    (I) a student's grade point average in the semester prior to transferring to a home school; and
    (II) if a student transfers to a home school mid-semester, course work grades earned during the semester; and
    (B) may not reveal the identity of a student.
