7 LONG TITLE
8 General Description:
9 This bill modifies the Motor Vehicles Code by amending provisions relating to the
10 registration of a vehicle.
11 Highlighted Provisions:
12 This bill:
13 . provides that the Motor Vehicle Division may not accept a driving privilege card as
14 acceptable proof that the applicant or person making an application for registration
15 of a vehicle has a valid driver license; and
16 . makes technical changes.

25 Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:

26 Section 1. Section 41-1a-210.5 is amended to read:
27 41-1a-210.5. Driver license required on new registrations.
28 (1) The division, before issuing any new registration on the sale of a vehicle not sold
29 by a vehicle dealer, shall require the applicant or person making the application to show proof
30 that the applicant or person making the application has a valid driver license.
31 (2) The division may not accept a driving privilege card issued in accordance with
32 Section 53-3-207 as acceptable proof that the applicant or person making the application has a
33 valid driver license under Subsection (1).
