Sen. Buttars called the meeting to order at 8:16 a.m.

1.    HB0033, Refund of Unearned Health Insurance Premiums and Medicare Supplement Insurance Premiums (P. Ray)

    Rep. Ray introduced the bill.

    Mr. Braun spoke for the bill. Mr. Atkinson spoke against the bill.

     MOTION: Sen. Christensen moved to pass H.B. 33, Refund of Unearned Health Insurance

Premiums and Medicare Supplement Insurance Premiums, out of committee with a favorable recommendation.
    
    The motion passed with Sens. Buttars and Christensen voting aye and Sen. Hinkins voting nay.

2.    SB0021, State and Local Health Authorities Amendments (D. Stowell)

    Sen. Stowell introduced the bill, which was amended in a previous committee meeting.

     MOTION: Sen. Christensen moved to amend S.B. 21, State and Local Health Authorities Amendments, as follows:


1.    Page 1, Line 23 :    

             23      goals and budget;

{   and   }       

    . allows the Department of Health to use federal grant money to pay certain administrative costs; and  


2.    Page 3, Line 77 :    

             77          (ii) make a binding decision on the goals and budget for the grant.
    
  (d) The department may use money from grants from the federal government referred to in this Subsection (3) to pay the administrative costs incurred in implementing this Subsection (3).      

    
    The motion passed unanimously.

    Mr. Patton spoke against the bill. Mr. Garrett and Mr. Berentzen spoke for the bill.

     MOTION: Sen. Christensen moved to pass S.B. 21, State and Local Health Authorities Amendments, as amended in this meeting and a previous meeting, out of committee with a favorable recommendation.

    The motion passed unanimously.

3.    SB0175, Signage Requirements Relating to Children and animals in Parked Cars (K. Mayne)
    
    Sen. Mayne introduced the bill.

    Ms. Phipps spoke to the bill. Mr. Edwards spoke for the bill.

     MOTION: Sen. Christensen moved to table S.B. 175, Signage Requirements Relating to

Children and Animals in Parked Cars.

    The motion passed with Sen. Hinkins voting nay.

4.    SB0173, Emotional Support Animals and Psychiatric Therapy Animals (M. Dayton)

    Sen. Dayton introduced the bill.

    Mr. Nelson, Mr. Brooks, Mr. Olsen, and Mr. Carpenter spoke for the bill. Ms. Diaz spoke against the bill. Mr. Riggle spoke to the bill.

     MOTION: Sen. Hinkins moved to pass S.B. 173, Emotional Support Animals and Psychiatric Therapy Animals, out of committee with a favorable recommendation.

    The motion passed unanimously.

     MOTION: Sen. Christensen moved to adjourn.

    The motion passed unanimously.

    Sen. Buttars adjourned the meeting at 9:17 a.m.
