         EXPEDITED PARTNER THERAPY TREATMENT

Senator Margaret Dayton proposes the following amendments:

1.    Page 1, Line 22 :    

             22          .    makes conforming changes to the Pharmacy Practices Act;
{   and   }       

    .    provides immunity from medical malpractice actions for a practitioner who uses expedited partner therapy; and  


2.    Page 3, Line 83 :    

             83      and the partner under Section 58-17b-613 .
 

    (5)(a) The legislature finds that the prevention and treatment of sexually transmitted diseases in the state is a compelling public health issue.
    (b) A practitioner or licensee under this chapter is not liable for a medical malpractice action if the use of expedited partner therapy is in compliance with this section, except for those acts which are grossly negligent or willful and wonton.
