LONG TITLE

General Description:

This bill supplements or reduces appropriations previously provided for the use and
10
operation of state government for the fiscal years beginning July 1, 2008 and ending June 30, 2009
11
and beginning July 1, 2009 and ending June 30, 2010.

Highlighted Provisions:

This bill:

. provides appropriations for the use and support of certain state agencies;
15
. provides appropriations for the use and support of certain institutions of higher
education;
16
. provides appropriations for the use and support of public education;
17
. provides budget increases and decreases for other purposes as described; and
18
. provides intent language.

Monies Appropriated in this Bill:

This bill appropriates for fiscal year 2009:

. ($94,381,800) from the Uniform School Fund;

. ($94,381,800) as a transfer from the Education Fund to the Uniform School Fund;

. $102,266,700 from various sources as detailed in this bill.

Section 1 of this bill takes effect immediately. Section 2 of this bill takes effect on July 1,

34 Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
35 Section 1. Under the terms and conditions of Title 63J, the following sums of money are
36 appropriated from resources not otherwise appropriated, or reduced from amounts previously
37 appropriated, out of the funds or fund accounts indicated for the use and support of the government
38 of the State of Utah for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2008 and ending June 30, 2009. These are
39 additions to amounts previously appropriated for fiscal year 2009.

199 Section 3. Effective Date.
200 If approved by two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, Section 1 of this bill
201 takes effect upon approval by the Governor, or the day following the constitutional time limit of
202 Utah Constitution Article VII, Section 8 without the Governor's signature, or in the case of a veto,
203 the date of override. Section 2 of this bill takes effect on July 1, 2009.
