8 General Description:
9 This bill enacts a provision relating to the duties of the lieutenant governor.
10 Highlighted Provisions:
11 This bill:
12 . prohibits the lieutenant governor from certifying a document in certain
13 circumstances.

22 Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
23 Section 1. Section 67-1a-13 is enacted to read:
24 67-1a-13. Certification restrictions.
25 The lieutenant governor may not certify a signature of a notary or county recorder on:

26 (1) a document that is not properly notarized, if notarization is required; or
27 (2) a document regarding:
28 (a) allegiance to a government or jurisdiction;
29 (b) sovereignty;
30 (c) in itinere status or world service authority; or
31 (d) a claim similar to a claim listed in Subsections (2)(a) through (c).
