Rep. Hunsaker opened the meeting at 8:13 a.m.

MOTION: Rep. Black moved to approve the minutes of Wednesday, February 24, 2010. The motion passed unanimously.

S.B. 167    Alcoholic Beverage Control Act Recodification (Sen. J. Valentine) (Rep. G. Hughes)

Sen. Valentine introduced and explained the bill to the committee. Questions from the committee were discussed.

MOTION: Rep. Greenwood moved to amend as follows:

             12464c      Amendments, both pass, it is the intent of the Legislature that the Office of Legislative
             12464d      Research and General Counsel, in preparing the Utah Code database for publication

  make the following changes       in the following subsections enacted in this bill

(b) reorder the remaining definitions in Subsection 32B-2-402(1) to be in alphabetical order

             12464q      (3) change the number in Subsection 32B-6-703(3)(a) from "30,500" to "53,400". .S
  Section 387. Revisor instructions.

    It is the intent of the Legislature that the Office of Legislative Research and General Counsel, in preparing the Utah Code database for publication make the

following changes to take effect on July 1, 2011:
    (1) for a section newly enacted during the 2010 General Session in Title 32A, Alcoholic Beverage Control Act, that is not referred to in this bill, the Office of Legislative Research and General Counsel shall renumber the section to the corresponding chapter and part in Title 32B, Alcoholic Beverage Control Act; and
    (2) for a cross reference to Title 32A newly enacted during the 2010 General Session, that is not referred to in this bill, the Office of Legislative Research and General Counsel shall change the cross reference to the corresponding cross reference in Title 32B.  



The motion to amend passed unanimously.

Earl Dorius, Regulatory Director, Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control, spoke to the bill. Questions from the committee were discussed.

MOTION: Rep. Black moved to recommend S.B. 167 favorably, as amended. The motion passed unanimously.

MOTION: Rep. Greenwood moved to place S.B. 167 on the Consent Calendar. The motion passed unanimously.

MOTION: Rep. Draxler moved to adjourn. The motion passed unanimously.
