8 General Description:
9 This bill designates the month of April as Clean Out the Cabinets Month in Utah.
10 Highlighted Provisions:
11 This bill:
12 . designates that the month of April shall be commemorated annually as Clean Out
13 the Cabinets Month in Utah.

22 Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
23 Section 1. Section 63G-1-401 is amended to read:
24 63G-1-401. Commemorative periods.
25 (1) The following days shall be commemorated yearly:
26 (a) Bill of Rights Day, on December 15;
27 (b) Constitution Day, on September 17;

28 (c) Yellow Ribbon Day, on the third Monday in May, in honor of men and women who
29 are serving or have served in the U.S. armed forces around the world in defense of freedom;
30 (d) POW/MIA Recognition Day, on the third Friday in September; and
31 (e) Indigenous People Day, the Monday immediately preceding Thanksgiving.
32 (2) The Department of Veterans' Affairs shall coordinate activities, special programs,
33 and promotional information to heighten public awareness and involvement relating to
34 Subsections (1)(c) and (d).
35 (3) The month of November shall be commemorated yearly as American Indian
36 Heritage Month.
37 (4) The month of April shall be commemorated yearly as Clean Out the Cabinets
38 Month to recognize the urgent need to make Utah homes and neighborhoods safe from
39 prescription medication abuse by the proper home storage and disposal of prescription
40 medications.
41 [(4)] (5) The first full week of May shall be commemorated yearly as State Water
42 Week to recognize the importance of water conservation, quality, and supply in the state.
43 [(5)] (6) January 24, 2011, shall be commemorated as John M. Browning Day.
