             8      General Description:
             9          This bill designates March 9 as Utah State Flag Day.
             10      Highlighted Provisions:
             11          This bill:
             12          .    designates that March 9 shall be commemorated annually as Utah State Flag Day.
             13      Money Appropriated in this Bill:
             14          None
             15      Other Special Clauses:
             16          None
             17      Utah Code Sections Affected:

             19          63G-1-401, as last amended by Laws of Utah 2010, Chapter 224

             21      Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
             22          Section 1. Section 63G-1-401 is amended to read:
             23           63G-1-401. Commemorative periods.
             24          (1) The following days shall be commemorated yearly:
             25          (a) Bill of Rights Day, on December 15;
             26          (b) Constitution Day, on September 17;
             27          (c) Yellow Ribbon Day, on the third Monday in May, in honor of men and women who


             28      are serving or have served in the U.S. armed forces around the world in defense of freedom;
             29          (d) POW/MIA Recognition Day, on the third Friday in September; [and]
             30          (e) Indigenous People Day, the Monday immediately preceding Thanksgiving[.]; and
             31          (f) Utah State Flag Day, on March 9.
             32          (2) The Department of Veterans' Affairs shall coordinate activities, special programs,
             33      and promotional information to heighten public awareness and involvement relating to
             34      Subsections (1)(c) and (d).
             35          (3) The month of November shall be commemorated yearly as American Indian
             36      Heritage Month.
             37          (4) The first full week of May shall be commemorated yearly as State Water Week to
             38      recognize the importance of water conservation, quality, and supply in the state.
             39          (5) January 24, 2011, shall be commemorated as John M. Browning Day.
