Rep. Ray called the meeting to order at 2:10 p.m.

MOTION:    Rep. Daw moved to approve the minutes of February 14 and February 16, 2011. The motion passed unanimously, with Rep. Clark, Rep. Menlove and Rep. Watkins absent for the vote.

H.B. 233    Insurance Coverage for Amino Acid-based Formula (Rep. C. Moss)

Rep. Moss presented the bill to the committee.

MOTION:    Rep. Chavez-Houck moved to pass H.B. 233 with a favorable recommendation. The motion passed, with Rep. Clark, Rep. Daw and Rep. Sanpei voting in opposition.


H.B. 234    Assertive Community Mental Health Treatment Pilot Program (Rep. C. Moss)

MOTION:    Rep. Chavez-Houck moved to amend H.B. 234 as follows:


1.    Page 3, Lines 86 through 88 :    

             86          (c) recommendations for changes, if any, related to the pilot program.
  (10) The report described in Subsection (9) shall evaluate the success of the pilot program using tools, including the ACT Fidelity Scale and General Organization Index, to measure outcomes, including:

(a) reduced hospital stays;
(b) higher levels of housing stability;
(c) improved symptoms and social functioning;
(d) higher quality of life; and
(e) increased consumer and family satisfaction with services.

H.C.R. 9    Lupus Awareness Month Concurrent Resolution (Rep. T. Cosgrove)

Rep. Cosgrove presented the resolution to the committee with the assistance of Dr. Kevin Nelson, American Association of Pediatricians.

MOTION:    Rep. Watkins moved to pass the resolution with a favorable recommendation.

MOTION:    Rep. Watkins moved to place H.C.R. 9 on the Consent Calendar. The motion passed unanimously, with Rep. Clark and Rep. Vickers absent for the vote.

H.B. 358    Access to Controlled Substance Database Revisions (Rep. S. Eliason)
