Committee Chair Van Tassell called the meeting to order at 4:20 p.m.

1.     1st Sub. H.B. 221 Classic Car Inspections (F. Cox)
    
    
Rep. Cox explained the bill.
    
    Kerry Burton, Collectible Car Owner spoke in support of the bill.

     MOTION: Sen. Mayne moved to transmit 1st Sub. H.B. 221 with a favorable     recommendation.

    The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Knudson absent for the vote.
    
     MOTION: Sen. Mayne moved that 1st Sub. H.B. 221 be placed on the Consent Calendar.

    The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Knudson absent for the vote.

2.     S.B. 229 Transportation Funding Revisions (J.S. Adams)

    Sen. Adams explained the bill and answered questions from the committee.



    Andrew Gruber, Executive Director, Wasatch Front Regional Council and Rich Thorn,     President, Associated General Contractors spoke in support of the bill.
        
     MOTION: Sen. Jenkins moved to transmit S.B. 229 with a favorable recommendation.

    The motion passed unanimously.

Sen. Adams assumed the Committee Chair.

3.     S.B. 317 State Parks Access Highway (K. Van Tassell)

     MOTION: Sen. Van Tassell moved to delete in title and body S.B. 317 and replace it     with 1st Sub. S.B. 317.

    The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Jenkins absent for the vote.

     MOTION: Sen. Mayne moved to transmit 1st Sub. S.B. 317 with a favorable     recommendation.

    The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Jenkins absent for the vote.

     MOTION: Sen. Van Tassell moved that 1st Sub. S.B. 316 be placed on the Consent     Calendar.

    The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Jenkins absent for the vote.

Sen. Van Tassell resumed the Committee Chair.

4.     H.B. 162 Pedestrians on Freeways (L. Perry)

    
Rep. Perry explained the bill.

     MOTION: Sen. Knudson moved to transmit H.B. 162 with a favorable recommendation.

    The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Jenkins absent for the vote.

     MOTION: Sen. Van Tassell moved that H.B. 162 be placed on the Consent Calendar.

    The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Jenkins absent for the vote.

5.     H.B. 252 Railroad and Railroad Crossing Amendments (R. Greenwood)

    
Rep. Greenwood explained the bill and answered questions from the committee.

    Jeff Worthington, Locomotive Engineer, Brotherhood of Local Engineers in Training and




    Jeff Devashrayee, Legal Counsel, Union Pacific Railroad spoke in support of the bill.

    
MOTION: Sen. Jenkins moved to transmit H.B. 252 with a favorable recommendation.

    The motion passed unanimously.

     MOTION: Sen. Jenkins moved to adjourn.

    Chair Van Tassell adjourned the meeting at 4:52 p.m.
