Representative LaVar Christensen proposes the following amendments:

1.    Page 1, Line 21 :    

             21      law enforcement officer
  , and an exemption for sponsorship of an alien by a person who meets the requirements under federal law for the sponsorship of a legal immigrant       ;

  (1)       A state or local law enforcement agency may securely transport an alien who is in the

             174      agency, to a federal facility or other point of transfer to federal custody that is outside this state.
    
  (2) If an alien is being held for transportation the alien may remain in this state if a legal resident of this state offers to sponsor the alien in compliance with the requirements under federal law for sponsorship of a legal immigrant.
