Chair Powell called the meeting to order at 2:03 p.m.

MOTION:    Rep. Galvez moved to approve the minutes of the February 9, 2012 meeting. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Fisher, Rep. Frank, and Rep. Sagers absent for the vote.


S.B. 145    State Building Board Amendments (Sen. J. S. Adams)

Sen. Adams introduced the bill to the committee.

MOTION:    Rep. Frank moved to pass the bill out favorably. The motion passed unanimously.

MOTION:    Rep. Galvez moved to place S.B. 145 on the Consent Calendar. The motion passed unanimously.


H.B. 416    Guardian Ad Litem Office References (Rep. V. L. Snow)

Rep. Snow introduced the bill to the committee.

MOTION:    Rep. Greenwood moved to pass the bill out favorably. The motion passed unanimously.

MOTION:    Rep. Greenwood moved to place H.B. 416 on the Consent Calendar. The motion passed unanimously.


H.B. 219    Use of Public Buildings (Rep. J. Nielson)

MOTION:    Rep. Galvez moved to adopt 1st Substitute H.B. 219. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Perry absent for the vote.

Rep. Nielson introduced the bill and explained the changes in the substitute bill.

Spoke in opposition to the bill:    Lynn Pace, Utah League of Cities and Towns

MOTION:    Rep. Fisher moved to hold the bill in committee. The motion passed with Rep. Frank, Rep. Sagers, and Rep. Galvez voting in opposition to the motion.

Rep. Edwards introduced the bill to the committee.

MOTION:    Rep. Galvez moved to adjourn the meeting. The motion passed unanimously.
