Chair Daw called the meeting to order at 8:07 a.m.

MOTION:    Rep. Handy moved to approve the minutes of the February 23, 2012 meeting. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Barlow, Rep. Fisher, and Rep. Nielson absent for the vote.

H.B. 173    Transportation Funding Modifications (Rep. B. Dee)

Rep. Dee introduced the bill to the committee.

MOTION:    Rep. Handy moved to adopt 1st Substitute H.B. 173. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Barlow, Rep. Fisher, and Rep. Nielson absent for the vote.

Spoke for the bill:    Mr. Carlos Braceras, Utah Department of Transportation

MOTION:    Rep. V. Peterson moved to pass 1st Substitute H.B. 173 out favorably. The motion passed with Rep. Kiser voting in opposition. Rep. Nielson was absent for the vote.


H.B. 407    New Car Safety and Emissions Inspection (Rep. D. Ipson)

Rep. Ipson introduced the bill to the committee.
