Chair Okerlund called the meeting to order at 4:25 p.m.

Approval of Minutes

MOTION:    Sen. Anderson moved to approve the minutes of the February 15, 2012 meeting. The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Christensen, Sen. Davis, and Sen. Dayton absent for the vote.

H.C.R. 9    Concurrent Resolution Recognizing 75th Anniversary of Ducks Unlimited (C. Oda)

Rep. Oda presented and explained this bill.

    Sen. Christensen moved to place H.C.R. 9 which was discussed earlier, on the consent calendar. The motion passed unanimously.

H.B. 195    Petroleum and Underground Storage Tank Fees (G. Hughes)

MOTION:    Sen. Hinkins moved to replace S.B. 87 with 1st Sub. S.B. 87. The motion passed unanimously.

S.J.R. 16    Joint Resolution Recognizing the Hole-in-the-rock San Juan Mission Historic Trail (R. Okerlund)

MOTION:    Sen. Okerlund moved to replace S.J.R. 16 with 1st Sub. S.J.R. 16. The motion passed unanimously, with Sen. Christensen absent for the vote.

MOTION:    Sen. Okerlund moved to amend S.J.R. 16 as follows:

1.    Page 5, Lines 125 through 128 :    

             125          BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Legislature of the state of Utah urges the Board
             126      of State Parks and Recreation to designate additional trails within the state of Utah as state
             127      historic
  , scenic, or recreational       trails, if the trails are determined by the board to be of statewide significance and to

             128      meet other criteria as defined by the board.

The motion passed unanimously.
