             9          The Transportation Interim Committee recommended this bill.
             10      General Description:
             11          This bill modifies the Highway Jurisdiction and Classification Act by amending
             12      provisions relating to state park access highways.
             13      Highlighted Provisions:
             14          This bill:
             15          .    designates an additional access road to Quail Creek State Park;
             16          .    designates access roads to Sand Hollow State Park; and
             17          .    makes technical changes.

             26      Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
             27          Section 1. Section 72-3-205 is amended to read:


             28           72-3-205. State park access highways -- Palisade State Park to Starvation State
             29      Park.
             30          State park access highways include:
             31          (1) PALISADE STATE PARK. Access to the Palisade State Park begins in Sanpete
             32      County at State Highway 89 and proceeds northeasterly on a county road a distance of 2.2
             33      miles to the golf club/contact station at the park and is under the jurisdiction of Sanpete
             34      County.
             35          (2) PIONEER TRAILS STATE PARK. Access to Pioneer Trails State Park is at the
             36      park entrance in Salt Lake County at 2601 East Sunnyside Avenue in Salt Lake City. No
             37      access road is defined.
             38          (3) PIUTE STATE PARK. Access to the Piute State Park begins in Piute County at
             39      State Highway 89 and proceeds southeasterly on a county road a distance of 1.0 miles to the
             40      parking area at the park and is under the jurisdiction of Piute County.
             41          (4) QUAIL CREEK STATE PARK (North Access). The North Access to the Quail
             42      Creek State Park begins in Hurricane City at Old Highway 91 and proceeds southerly on 5300
             43      West, a distance of 1.0 miles to the pay gate/contact station at the park. The North Access is
             44      under the jurisdiction of Hurricane City.
             45          [(4)] (5) QUAIL CREEK STATE PARK[.] (South Access). The South Access to the
             46      Quail Creek State Park begins in Washington County at State Highway 9 and proceeds
             47      northerly on State Highway 318, a distance of 2.2 miles to the pay gate/contact station at the
             48      park [and]. The South Access is under the jurisdiction of UDOT.
             49          [(5)] (6) RED FLEET STATE PARK. Access to the Red Fleet State Park begins in
             50      Uintah County at State Highway 191 and proceeds easterly on a county road a distance of 2.0
             51      miles to the pay gate at the park and is under the jurisdiction of Uintah County.
             52          [(6)] (7) ROCKPORT STATE PARK. Access to the Rockport State Park begins in
             53      Summit County at State Highway 32 and proceeds northwesterly on State Highway 302 a
             54      distance of 0.2 miles to the pay gate at the park and is under the jurisdiction of UDOT.
             55          (8) SAND HOLLOW STATE PARK (North Access). The North Access to the Sand
             56      Hollow State Park begins in Hurricane City at State Highway 9 and proceeds southerly on Sand
             57      Hollow Road, a distance of 3.9 miles to Sand Hollow Parkway. The North Access is under the
             58      jurisdiction of Hurricane City.


             59          (9) SAND HOLLOW STATE PARK (East Access). The East Access to the Sand
             60      Hollow State Park begins in Hurricane City at 1100 West and proceeds west on 3000 South, a
             61      distance of 1.7 miles; then proceeds southwesterly on Sand Hollow Road, a distance of 5.3
             62      miles to Sand Hollow Parkway. The East Access is under the jurisdiction of Hurricane City.
             63          [(7)] (10) SCOFIELD (Mountain View). Access to Scofield Mountain View is at the
             64      boat launch in Carbon County at milepoint 9.2 on State Highway 96. No access road is
             65      defined.
             66          [(8)] (11) SCOFIELD STATE PARK (Madsen Bay). Access to the Scofield State Park
             67      Madsen Bay is at the park entrance in Carbon County at milepoint 12.3 on State Highway 96.
             68      No access road is defined.
             69          [(9)] (12) SNOW CANYON STATE PARK. Access to the Snow Canyon State Park
             70      begins in Washington County at State Highway 18 near mile post 4 in St. George west on the
             71      Tuacahn Parkway to Federal Route 3200 then north on Federal Route 3200 to the south
             72      boundary of the Snow Canyon State Park.
             73          [(10)] (13) STARVATION STATE PARK. Access to the Starvation State Park begins
             74      in Duchesne County at State Highway 40 and proceeds northwesterly on State Highway 311 a
             75      distance of 2.2 miles to the boat ramp at the park and is under the jurisdiction of UDOT.
