             8      LONG TITLE
             9      General Description:
             10          This bill modifies the functions of the Rocky Mountain Center for Occupational and
             11      Environmental Health and provides an appropriation for the center.
             12      Highlighted Provisions:
             13          This bill:
             14          .    requires the Rocky Mountain Center for Occupational and Environmental Health to
             15      create and maintain a website designed for the public to learn about the findings of
             16      research studies regarding occupational and environmental health, including
             17      research on the health effects of air pollution.
             18      Money Appropriated in this Bill:
             19          This bill appropriates:
             20          .    to the University of Utah - Rocky Mountain Center for Occupational and
             21      Environmental Health, as an ongoing appropriation for fiscal year 2013-14:
             22              .    from the General Fund, $50,000.
             23      Other Special Clauses:
             24          This bill takes effect on July 1, 2013.
             25      Utah Code Sections Affected:

             27          53B-17-802, as enacted by Laws of Utah 2007, Chapter 232

             29      Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
             30          Section 1. Section 53B-17-802 is amended to read:
             31           53B-17-802. Rocky Mountain Center for Occupational and Environmental
             32      Health at the university.
             33          (1) There is established at the University of Utah the Rocky Mountain Center for
             34      Occupational and Environmental Health, to be an occupational health and safety center for
             35      education and research.
             36          (2) The university shall operate the center in a manner so that the center is:
             37          (a) eligible to be designated as an education and research center by the National
             38      Institute for Occupational Safety and Health in the United States Department of Health and
             39      Human Services; and
             40          (b) a resource for affected populations to:
             41          (i) improve workplace health and safety; and
             42          (ii) contribute to economic growth and development in Utah and the surrounding
             43      region.
             44          (3) The center shall create a website designed for the public to learn about the findings
             45      of research studies regarding occupational and environmental health, including research on the
             46      health effects of air pollution.
             47          Section 2. Appropriation.
             48          Under the terms and conditions of Utah Code Title 63J, Chapter 1, Budgetary
             49      Procedures Act, the following sums of money are appropriated from resources not otherwise
             50      appropriated, or reduced from amounts previously appropriated, out of the funds or fund
             51      accounts indicated for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2013, and ending June 30, 2014. These
             52      appropriations are additions to amounts previously appropriated for the fiscal year 2013-14.
             53          To University of Utah - Rocky Mountain Center for Occupational and Environmental
             54      Health
