Mr. President:

    The Education Committee reports a favorable recommendation on S.B. 209, GRANTS FOR PERSONAL MOBILE LEARNING DEVICES, by Senator A. Osmond, with the following amendments:

1.    Page 3, Lines 81 through 82 :    

             81      device;

{   and   }

             82          (g) relating to the ownership of a personal mobile learning device
{   .   }        ; and

    (h) requiring an applicant for grant money to submit the following with the grant application:
    (i) a comprehensive instructional plan that articulates how technology purchased with the grant money will be used in the classroom to teach the core curriculum; and
    (ii) evidence of successfully using technology for instruction on the core curriculum
