Vice Chair Nielson called the meeting to order at 8:11 a.m.

MOTION:    Rep. Knotwell moved to approve the minutes of February 25, 2013. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Froerer, Rep. King, Rep. McIff, Rep. Stanard, and Rep. Wilcox absent for the vote.

H.B. 84    Specie Legal Tender Amendments (Rep. M. Kennedy)

Rep. Kennedy introduced the bill to the committee with the assistance of Mr. Larry Hilton, citizen. A handout was provided.

Chair Wilcox resumed the chair

MOTION:    Rep. Knotwell moved to replace HB84 with 1st Sub. HB84. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Froerer, Rep. King, Rep. McIff, Rep. Stanard, and Rep. Wilcox absent for the vote.

1st Sub. H.B. 84    Specie Legal Tender Amendments (Rep. M. Kennedy)

Spoke in favor of the bill:    Mr. Tim Irwin, Highland City Councilor

MOTION:    Rep. Hutchings moved to pass the bill out favorably.

SUBSTITUTE MOTION:    Rep. Froerer moved to return 1st Sub. HB84 to the Rules Committee and that it be referred for interim study. The motion passed with Rep. Anderegg, Rep. Hutchings, Rep. Knotwell, Rep. Sagers, and Rep. Wilcox voting in opposition.

MOTION:    Rep. Nielson moved to replace HB337 with 1st. Sub. HB337. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Anderegg absent for the vote.

Rep. Nielson introduced the bill to the committee. Mr. Richard Ellis, Utah State Treasurer, answered questions from the committee.

MOTION:    Rep. Sagers moved to pass 1st Sub. HB337 out favorably. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Anderegg absent for the vote.

MOTION:    Rep. Eliason moved to place 1st Sub. HB337 on the Consent Calendar. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Anderegg absent for the vote.

Chair Wilcox relinquished the chair to Vice Chair Nielson.

Rep. Wilcox inroduced the bill to the committee. A handout was provided.

MOTION:    Rep. Anderegg moved to adjourn the meeting. The motion passed unanimously.

Vice Chair Nielson adjourned the meeting at 10:04 a.m.
